Hi
Well the dust has settled and we've got back to our flying and
hopefully so have all you guys. We have now posted the results, tracklogs,
best days routes, reports and some photos on the website
www.flylaragne.com , better quality photos will get
there eventually and we have high resolutions of all those posted if you
really want a copy. Also Olive Montel - (the crazy Frenchman) has some on his
site at
http://www.fototime.com/inv/D716AB12705B3D7
["Chabre
Ozone OPEN '05"]) and there is a report on the Ozone
site
www.flyozone.com
Thanks to you all for making the comp a success and for
partaking of a minimum of incidents! Incident free comps are far more fun and
less stressful for the pilots and especially the organisers, hopefully it
shows we got things about right in terms of task setting and site selection
and in pilot qualification.
The good news is it hasn't put us off organising another comp
for next year and, subject to persuading the guys at Ozone (hopefully not too
difficult) and getting the necessary grants locally (maybe a bit more
difficult) we will aim to run a similar event next year from the 10th to 17th
June, so mark your diaries now. We promise to circulate all the guys on the
pilot list for 2005 first, though we may be forced to limit numbers from each
country in the initial stages to qualify for the grants.
So over to you, we would welcome suggestions from all those who
were there as to how we could improve the event, what extra you would like to
see, what we could have done differently, what were the best bits and what we
could miss out, we have a few ideas ourselves and will listen to all
reasonable ideas.
For those wanting to get some practice and inside knowledge of
the area don't forget us at Allez-up Holidays
www.allez-up.com ,we are free for groups or B&B
through most of September and early October when conditions here are very good
- we offer B&B plus a lift to take off, with retrieve etc. available for
larger groups - see our website www.allez-up.com .
We also have one week free at the end of July in La Grange for those who
haven't yet organised the family holiday for this year and want to go flying
too.
Those desperate to buy a new Ozone glider having now had the
opportunity to test one thoroughly at Laragne should give their dealer a call
and anyone who wishes to experience a flight with Klaus from Quo Vadis can
either get in touch direct
www.quovadis.aero or give us a call - Russell Ogden's father flew an
amazing flight yesterday from Serres taking off at midday and landing at 8
p.m. apparently he flew around/over the Matterhorn among other places.
Safe flying and thanks for all the positive comments from
everyone
